Propaganda Posters

Propaganda

Propaganda is set of message concerning at influencing opinions or behavior of large numbers of people. During the Russian Revolution, propaganda posters seems to be the majority chosen type of commercial at that time. The reason is because at that time there were no more commercial and convincing media and posters anymore, in fact, propaganda posters could be the only choice. Propagandas are very magnificent due to the Russian Revolution, it helped people by judging on reasons, but not only physical engaging. Propagandas encourage the Soviets in a lot of more of ways to govern the revolution, this helped a lot during that time. Propaganda posters particularly apparently have their own unique messages on each poster, simultaneously, propaganda ideas were also taken by the Soviet as well as encouraging people to be involve in the wars.

This propaganda poster was trying to convince the people to turn against and revolt opposing the old government and revolt to make the food shortages and war to end, which could happen if people follow the thought of this poster. On the other hand, despite the will of Lenin's rise to power that he wanted; the message of this poster mainly is precisely having the purpose to strengthen Lenin's power and voices to make him the leader of Russia. Additionally, due to my concise and aspect, I would say that this propaganda poster reflects that the people may have many choices due to their own instincts at this case.
This propaganda poster was published in 1919, which was not long after the revolutions. This poster message is stating that in the future, the demands are that the classes including "Soldiers, Farmers, Workers" are going to be the new rulers. In this propaganda poster it has an emblem of hammer and a plough in the red star on the center top, it was soon replaced by a familiar hammer and sickle. "Proletarians of all countries, unite!" is its title, this was taken from the Communist Manifesto by Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels. This poster is trying to get people to think not to underestimate middle class and the lower class people, because they can be unpredictable and beyond the higher class peoples' predictions. This poster conveys its message by emphasizing the picture and the notes that were posted on the poster. The effective part of this poster is that the poster apparently could catch a lot of people's attention and as well as the Soviets at that time for its sake of spreading this idea.

The last propaganda poster was about Lenin, Engels, and Marx. They were the three powerful leaders in the Russian history. These three former powerful leaders came together and contributed in a lot of stability of the country to Russia. Marx, Lenin, and Engels are trying to avoid war and they desire the state of peace more at this case, their main attempt was to end the Russian Revolution. This poster's message was to accumulate everyone and solve for a way to end the revolution, the poster conveys its message by elaborating the poster. The three powerful rulers were shown on the Russian flag, which means they are the leaders of the country at that time which was very affective. Furthermore, at the bottom was a group of happy and joyful people who were very willing to end the revolution. The effectiveness of this poster is due to the fact that this poster is trying to state that Russia is a more united country at that time, some of the evidences are that people are more helpful and can lend a hand to each other anytime.

In my conclusion, the use of propaganda posters is a very convenient way to represent ideas and its very coherent and effective as well. I would like to say that all of the three posters have different point of view about the war and the revolution. But overall, I think that there is always a solution to any specific incident or disaster, no matter how much does the obstacles costed for it. The study of the Russian history is showned by these three propaganda posters. In my opinion all of the posters are very effective and efficiently done.

Battle of Marne

Battle of Marne

"Do you know that during World War I...there was a very huge impact battle called the Battle of Marne." There are several reasons that why I chose this topic, first is because it's an very important battle in World War I, and it's very relevant to World War I in terms of applying tactics and many more special ways of battling. I found this topic interesting because of the German's clever plan that they had applied for this war, since the first stance, they used the Schlieffen Plan. However, this battle occured twice, first in 1914, later in 1918.

The first "Battle of Marne" lasted from September 6th- 12th, 1914. Mainly, the most efficient and the impact country in the first "Battle of Marne" is for sure Germany. The biggest rival of Germany is the Great Britain. The Germans are now likely to invade north-eastern France and Belgium, they chose to invade north-eastern part of France because that part of France is not fully protected, so it's not secure. The Germans successfully defeated the Belgians, then after they advanced to the deep of north-eastern, France and Britain got advanced by the Germans by pursuiting the Belgians and French with the use of their clever Schlieffen Plan. During the 8th to the 12th the Germans got invaded mostly during the time. Due to the fact that the Germans attacked Belgium, this also brought Britain into the war because Britain promised Belgium that if German invades them Britain will help them. The Battle of Marne also included using tactic called "trench warfare", which is a very great strategy.

The second "Battle of Marne" took place from July 15th- August 5th, 1918. The Germans thought that the was was lost. The reason for this is because a lot of German commander thought that the war was lost. During the second Battle of Marne (at this moment United States is already in the war) Germany's attacks are less harmful because they failed a lot during their offensive stance. With Germany's huge fail in breaking through, the Allied supreme commander Ferdinand Foch demanded a counter-attack on July 18th, this includes 24 seperated French army alone, and additionally the United States, Britain, and Italy send troops as well (overall composing of 350 tanks.) So this made the Germans had to retreat on July 20th, and on August 3rd the Germans were back at the same place where they started their offence. Overall, the Germans loses a lot of advantage during this second battle of Marne.

However, the overall Battle of Marne made a huge impact on World War one, because this war is actually the war that lead many countries to get involved. In my outlook World War I first started with only two countries in combat, which is between Germany and Belgium. It was that the Germans wanted power, I think this could be one of the reasons for them to invade Belgium because they may demand some part of Belgium's territories. The fact is that Germany is a very powerful nation, but had really less colonies compared to other European countries, they got no choice because they came later than others. So this may lead the Germans to proof that they're just as tough as others and is for sure not weaker than any country, daring to face any tough country any where and any place. It was estimated that the Germans suffered 168,000 casualties (estimated), and this marked the last real attempt for the Central Powers to win World War I.

In my conclusion, I would like to say that in all the Battle of Marne totally affected a whole lot to World War I. But if I was at that time, I would sided the Germans, because the Germans are the most hated country; this is because of they had a lot of rivals as well.
